These Terms of Use govern your use of the Next Transfer application and the websites Planward Labs publishes for it. By installing, accessing, or using Next Transfer, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the application.
Next Transfer is a planning and organization application for returned missionaries. It helps you keep track of tasks, calendar events, goals, weekly plans, contacts, reminders, and saved locations.
Next Transfer is local-first: the information you enter is stored on your own device. An online account is optional. Planward Labs keeps a copy of your data on its cloud provider only if you sign in and turn on Google Sync, as described in Section 3 and in the Privacy Policy.
Next Transfer can optionally bring in information from other places you choose: your phone's calendar, your Google Calendar, your school's Canvas LMS, and a BetterCalendar backup file. These connections only read; Next Transfer never changes anything in those services. Some connections are part of Next Transfer Pro (Section 3.2). How each connection handles your information is described in the Privacy Policy.
You can use Next Transfer without an account. To use Google Sync or Next Transfer Pro, you sign in with your Google account.
You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with and for activity under your Next Transfer account.
Google Sync keeps a limited number of recent cloud versions of your data. It is a convenience, not a guaranteed archive. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose (Sections 6 and 7).
You can delete your account and cloud data at any time, as described on our account deletion page.
Optional. Next Transfer Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds features to the app. The features available on the Free plan stay free.
Billing by Google Play. Pro is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription through Google Play. Google Play processes the payment, under the Google Play Terms of Service. The price and billing period are shown in Google Play before you buy.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel it. Google Play tells you before a price change takes effect.
Free trials and offers. Google Play may offer a free trial or an introductory price. Unless you cancel before the trial or offer ends, the subscription continues at the regular price.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or from the Next Transfer Pro screen. Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund right you have under applicable law.
Your account. Pro belongs to the Next Transfer account you were signed in with when you bought it, and can be used on any phone where you sign in with that account. It cannot be transferred to another account.
Changes to Pro. Planward Labs may add, change, or remove Pro features over time. Features described as "coming soon" are plans, not promises, and are not included in the price until they are released.
Connected calendars and Canvas. Phone calendar Keep in sync, Google Calendar and Canvas are Pro features. When Pro ends, they stop (the overnight phone calendar and Canvas feed refresh may continue for up to 7 days); events and tasks they already added stay in your Planner.
Beta gift. People who took part in the closed beta may receive free Pro for the period stated in the app. That gift ends automatically and does not renew or charge you.
You are responsible for the information you enter into Next Transfer and for how you use it. This includes information about other people, such as contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, and notes.
You must have the right to store and use that information, and you must comply with the laws that apply to you. Next Transfer is a personal planning tool; it is not a system of record for regulated or confidential information, and it is not intended for storing financial account numbers, government identification numbers, health records, or other data requiring a higher standard of protection than a consumer planning application provides.
If you connect Canvas with a feed link or an access token, you are responsible for following your school's rules for connecting apps to Canvas, for keeping that link and token private, and for deleting the token in Canvas when you no longer want Next Transfer to use it.
You are responsible for:
keeping your device and its screen lock secure,
controlling who can use your device and open Next Transfer,
managing Android app permissions you have granted, and
choosing whether to enable the optional Biometrics or MPIN app lock.
Next Transfer lets you create a backup file of your data and save it to a location you choose.
You are responsible for the files you create. A backup file is written to storage you select, which may be a folder on the device or a cloud-backed provider such as Google Drive.
Portable backup files are not encrypted. Anyone who can access a backup file may be able to read the information inside it. Store backup files somewhere you consider secure, and delete copies you no longer need.
A backup is not a substitute for independent copies of important information. Do not rely on Next Transfer, or on a single backup file, as your only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Restoring may change your data. A restore can merge a backup with your current data or replace your current data with the backup. Review what a restore will do before you confirm it.
Backup files stay with you. Planward Labs does not receive, store, or retain the backup files you create. Google Sync, if you turn it on, is separate and is described in Section 3.1.
Next Transfer is provided as-is, and we cannot guarantee against data loss. Data may be lost through device failure, damage, loss or theft, operating-system or storage problems, application defects, interrupted writes or syncs, restoring the wrong file, clearing application data, uninstalling the application, deleting your account, or your own actions. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Planward Labs is not responsible for lost or corrupted data.
Map display in Next Transfer is provided through the Google Maps SDK for Android and Google Maps Platform. Maps, location, and related content depend on third-party services and on your device's connectivity and location services. They may be unavailable, incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate, and they are not a substitute for your own judgment or for dedicated navigation equipment. Your use of Google Maps content is also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies, including the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
Canvas information in Next Transfer (classes, assignments, due dates, submission status such as Submitted, Late or Missing, scores, grades and announcement titles) is a copy read from your school's Canvas at the last successful check. It may be out of date, incomplete, or wrong, for example when your school or teacher changes something, when a check fails, or when Canvas does not provide the information. Your school's Canvas is the official record. Always confirm due dates, submissions, and grades in Canvas, and do not rely on Next Transfer to submit work, meet a deadline, or decide what you need to do for a class. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Planward Labs is not responsible for a missed deadline, a missed submission, or a grade that results from relying on information shown in Next Transfer. Next Transfer is not made, endorsed, or supported by Instructure, Inc. or by your school.
Google Calendar, your phone's calendar, Google ML Kit (used to read text from a screenshot you choose, on your phone), Google Sign-In, Google Play, and your school's Canvas are provided by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies. They may change, limit, or stop what Next Transfer can read at any time, and a connection may stop working until you connect again. Events and tasks that come from a connected service may differ from the original, for example in time zone, repeat rules, or formatting.
Opening a location in a third-party navigation application, or contacting someone through another installed application (for example a phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, or social application), is subject to that application's own terms and privacy policy. Such actions occur only when you initiate them.
Planward Labs may modify, suspend, or discontinue Next Transfer, or any feature of it, in whole or in part, at any time. We do not guarantee that any particular feature will continue to be available, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Updates may add, change, or remove features.
Next Transfer, including its name, design, artwork, icons, and software, is owned by Planward Labs and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the application for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the application except as expressly permitted by applicable law or by written permission from Planward Labs.
The information you enter into Next Transfer remains yours. Planward Labs claims no ownership of your content.
Next Transfer is independent. It is not made, endorsed, sponsored, or supported by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Names of Church apps and websites (for example Gospel Library, Member Tools, and FamilySearch) are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the app or page a link opens. Other product names mentioned in Next Transfer belong to their owners. Canvas is a trademark of Instructure, Inc.; Google, Google Calendar, Google Maps and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC; BetterCalendar belongs to its owner. They are named only to identify the service a feature connects to, and none of them makes, endorses, or supports Next Transfer.
You agree not to:
use Next Transfer for any unlawful purpose,
use Next Transfer to store or transmit content you do not have the right to hold,
use Next Transfer in a way that infringes or violates the rights of others, including the privacy of people who appear in your contacts,
interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to Next Transfer, its servers, or any other account, or to any system or network connected to it,
attempt to obtain Pro features without a valid subscription or gift, or
redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit Next Transfer without written permission from Planward Labs.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Next Transfer is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Planward Labs does not warrant that Next Transfer will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, or error-free, that data will not be lost, or that any content you store in the application will be accurate or preserved.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Planward Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use Next Transfer, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if Planward Labs has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Planward Labs arising out of or relating to Next Transfer will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Next Transfer Pro in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, and nothing in these Terms excludes your rights as a consumer that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
You may stop using Next Transfer at any time by uninstalling it, and you may delete your account at any time. Uninstalling or deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription; cancel it in Google Play. Planward Labs may suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or discontinue the application, at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 16 — will continue to apply.
Planward Labs may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the Effective Date and Last Updated date at the top of this page are revised. If you continue to use Next Transfer after an update, the updated Terms apply to you. If you do not agree with an update, stop using the application and cancel any Pro subscription in Google Play.
